In other news, after seeing the trailer for Hellboy II, I rented the first Hellboy movie and totally fell in love with it! I was like, WHY DIDN'T I WATCH THIS SOONER?!!! So I bought my own copy of the DVD (special edition!) plus the Hellboy companion to the comics and things and now I'm really super excited about the new movie XD you will also notice I have some Hellboy fanart posted, WHOO HOO! XD

dA SURVEY

When did you join DA and why?: In 2005 I had my first account. I joined because my best friend ~Kaden-Amano always raved about this place and I had taken to going to it frequently and back then you had to have an account to search or something XD so I joined up and started posting my hideous art! I'm happy to say that I've created a style over the years no matter how 2D that style is XD and I feel that I've improved alot and learned alot about Photoshop since then ^_^

What was the first deviation you uploaded?: A desktop screenshot from the Bleach anime XD I was into it back then. (Yes, I did go back and check LOL )

How many deviations have you submitted?: Not including scraps? 136

Do you submit everything you create?: NO WAY! I like to keep some of my art just for myself, plus I've made a billion Elouai dolls that I use for fandom and on Livejournal, plus tons of stuff I doodle in my college notebooks XD it'd be insane for me to put everything in here.

Do you read all the comments you get?: You bet I do! I love getting comments!

Do you reply to all the comments you get?: Not all of them, but to the ones I feel I can contribute something back and make a conversation or discussion out of it. You have to know when to stop commenting back XD

Do you read all the favourites/watches you get?: All the watches, of COURSE! And I used to go and check all the faves, I usually skim over them and get them off the page because all anybody ever favorites anymore are my Stamps LOL so if I see someone faving something BESIDES the stamps, I definitely go and check their page out.

Do you prefer comments or favs?: BOTH. Cuz like Queen says, I WANT IT ALL. My general rule is, if a piece is left in scraps it's fair game for faving w/o commenting. I do try to comment on the pieces I fave, but if they're insanely popular and already have a billion comments on them I figure why bother because mine will get lost anyway.

How much time do you spend on Deviantart?: I'm usually on it everyday, although sometimes I don't come for a few days and then I come back and have a bazillion message and I'm like OMG so I usually have it open on my browser the whole time I'm on the internet and I'll go check back with it for updates and things, especially if I've posted new deviations or a journal recently.

Do you think that Deviantart is good for critique?: It can be, but it usually isn't. Most people seem to just praise the hell out of people for their art here because they watch people with superior skills to their own and look up to them. Some people do take the time to critique things, but you mostly see either pointless wank, or tons of compliments in the comments on pieces.

Do you think there's alot of drama on DA?: YES THERE IS. LOL why else would there be so many journals complaining about it? One of the people I watch on both here and LJ sometimes posts the kind of epic wankfests that take place on her own deviations that generally have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ART. WRY?! Plus anything that has any kind of controversial connotation will have people arguing on it and then of course the erotica that's picked for DD's is whined about, and then all the fanart is also whined about. This site is one big dramafest.

Do you think DA would be better if it filtered out people who are not serious at artwork or causing too much drama?: It depends on what you mean by 'serious at artwork'. Alot of these people are teens who are developing their skills in hopes of a future in the art industry, and alot of these people just do this for fun. You can't take away the fun and hobbies. I mean I certainly don't draw for merit, so would that make me not serious at artwork? I concur that a good many of the best artists on this site are among the younger generation as well, so I don't think people should be filtered out, just everyone do your thing yo XD

Do you think the age limit should be higher than 13 for creating an account?: No, people are already lying to get on here so it would be pointless.

Do you go on the DA forums?: I've never been on the DA forums XD and I probably won't ever go unless there's like some kind of super cool thing going on that I couldn't possibly live without seeing XD

Would you buy a subscription? Why or why not?: I've been having a subscription off and on since 2005 and I freaking love it XD right now I have my DA account set up to autopay on the subs because I hate coming to DA without a sub. It just makes everything so much easier and better! Although, I have to admit I'm mad that it's not showing 120 devs per page now in searches, I REALLY LIKED THAT! I hate having to change the page so frequently, I would love to just scroll on forever XD
