This is Takahiro Juuta, he's my One Piece original character Hoshi's 'important person' from her past. So yes, that means he dies. IT'S REALLY SAD especially since they were going to get married and sail the world together! After Hoshi felt like the whole world had betrayed her, Juuta was the one to bring her back and show her the meaning of friendship and love. He accepted her for who she was, and taught her to paint and gave her a love for painting. She owes him alot.

Juuta played a huge part in making Hoshi the person she is today. He was an artist and nautical enthusiast. Juuta made all of his own paints with plants and other organic material and he studied all different kinds of ships and their 'anatomy' so to speak. His dream was always to paint a life size mural of a ship, but not just any ship. Juuta always said he'd know the ship he wanted to paint when he saw it and that it would be a ship that was both incredibly beautiful aesthetically and functionally. He died tragically protecting Hoshi after they spent five years together (it's all a part of her past which I'm not revealing completely yet) and she carries on his dream for him.

In this picture he's 15, the age at which he meets Hoshi when she is 13.

Awww I love this guy! He's not fully fleshed out in personality yet but he's sweet and enthusiastic and accepting. He had to sacrifice alot because he was always taking care of his dying mother even though more than anything he wanted to go out to sea. His grave is marked by a humongous tree (think similar to a California redwood) that Hoshi grew after she buried him. It's extremely tall because Hoshi wants him to be the first person to see any ships that are coming in.
